Circuit Park Zandvoort
Circuit Zandvoort returned to the Formula 1 calendar in 2021 after a 36-year absence, bringing with it a uniquely old-school character that modern circuits lack. This 4.259-kilometer Dutch seaside track features innovative banked corners at Turns 3 and 14, concepts borrowed from NASCAR that create spectacular viewing and unusual racing dynamics.
The narrow, undulating track weaves through sand dunes on the North Sea coast, offering virtually no run-off and demanding absolute precision from drivers. With an overtaking rating of just 4/10, qualifying is crucial, though the banked final corner allows drivers to take different lines and create late-race drama.
The return of the Dutch Grand Prix coincided with Max Verstappen's rise to championship contention, creating an electric atmosphere with the "Orange Army" of Dutch fans creating one of F1's most passionate spectacles. Zandvoort has quickly become one of the calendar's most anticipated events.
