Yas Marina Circuit

Abu Dhabi, UAEWIKI

The Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi has hosted Formula 1's season finale since 2009, providing a spectacular twilight setting as racing transitions from daylight to darkness under the stunning UAE skyline. This 5.281-kilometer track winds around the Yas Marina and features the unique design of passing through the iconic W Hotel.

The circuit underwent significant modifications in 2021, with the tight chicanes replaced by faster, flowing sections that improved racing quality. The changes created more overtaking opportunities while maintaining the track's distinctive character, including the atmospheric final corners beneath the hotel's LED-lit canopy.

As the traditional championship decider, Yas Marina has witnessed some of the most dramatic moments in F1 history. Sebastian Vettel's agonizing wait for Fernando Alonso, stuck behind Vitaly Petrov in 2010, and the unforgettable controversial final lap of 2021 that decided the World Championship between Verstappen and Hamilton are etched into the sport's memory forever.
