Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari

Imola, ItalyWIKI

The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari at Imola represents old-school Formula 1 at its finest. This 4.909-kilometer circuit in the Emilia-Romagna region returned to the calendar in 2020 after a 14-year absence and has reminded fans why it was once considered among the sport's most challenging venues.

Named after Enzo Ferrari and his son Dino, the circuit runs anti-clockwise through the picturesque Italian countryside. It's a narrow, unforgiving track where the punishing kerbs and limited run-off areas leave no margin for error. With an overtaking rating of just 4/10, track position is paramount, making qualifying crucial.

Imola has witnessed legendary battles, including Fernando Alonso's masterful defense against Michael Schumacher in 2005, one of the greatest drives in F1 history. The infamous 1994 race weekend, which saw the tragic deaths of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger, forever changed the sport's approach to safety.
